1. Put People Before Politics
Our representative government often
represents everyone BUT the voters. Big business gets a seat at the table; they
fund the mud slinging campaigns of government officials. The
media gets a seat at the table; they can make or break a
political career with a few words. Special Interests,
Lobbyists, and PACs all get an invite. Even foreign powers are
given an audience with our State Government, as evidenced by
the recent contracts and privileges given to foreign
corporations. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way they
forgot to make sure that Texans; you and I, are given a voice
in Austin. Our lawmakers are more than happy to bicker over
house leadership, but funding education? Well, that’s
another story.
As a candidate, I pledge to never stoop to negative tactics. I am running FOR
Jason Jordan, not against anyone
else.
As state representative I pledge to put the citizens of the greatest state in
our country ahead of all other interests. Ahead of party, politics, power, and personal gain.
I am not a conservative, a liberal, or a moderate. I am a Texan, and I have the same concerns as
the average voter. I pay rent on a
small apartment, I shop at the local grocery store, and I wash
my clothes at the Laundromat. The state I help create in Austin
will be the state I buy a home in, the state I raise a family
in, and the state where I continue my career in public
education. If there is any greed in my ambitions, it is this: I want the best Texas for my family, my students, and myself.
I want to put “U” and “I” back in
“AUSTIN”.
