After I made the decision to run this campaign, I had to find a way to make sure that the political process would not turn me into what I despise. I wrote down principles that would guide my campaign one evening before I went to bed, and I share them with you as my five promises to Texas:

1. Put People Before Politics

2. Education is the Future

3. Never Raise Taxes... EVER

4. Protect Texas Landowners

5. Ensure Individual Rights
